A corporate volunteering experience unlike anything else in Melbourne.

Come to our candle-making facility in Sunshine North and spend a day making candles side by side with Chin refugees from Myanmar — the same people who make every Kenshi candle, every single day.

Companies including Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Mondelēz International, RACV and Belle Property have already brought their teams through. Every dollar of profit goes to the Auschin Foundation to fund food and medicine for displaced families in Chin State.

What happens on the day

  • Welcome from Michael Foldi & Jacob Thang -Michael Foldi (GM of Kenshi) and Jacob Thang (Chairman of the Auschin Foundation and leader of Melbourne's Chin community) open the day. Jacob tells the story of the Chin people firsthand — why they fled Myanmar and what is happening on the ground right now.
  • The Kenshi Story -Watch the inspiring video story of Liam Foldi, who founded Kenshi at just 14 years of age and is now on a scholarship at Princeton University — still deeply involved in the mission.
  • Make candles with the Chin refugees -Your team hand pours Kenshi candles from scratch, working side by side with the Chin refugee candle makers who guide you through every step. No experience needed.

  • Traditional Burmese lunch/snack -Share a meal together with the Chin community.

  • Finish -Each participant leaves with the candle they made.
